Where Santa Meets Baby Jesus Anne Beate Designs

The postmodern spirit which reconciles concrete and glass, humans and animals, ugliness and beauty, has made its impact on the nativity culture. We see more and more representations where Santa Claus and Baby Jesus celebrate a peaceful coexistence. In most of these sets, Santa kneels next to the baby and rocks the manger. This set with its many turned wood figures in the Anne Beate tradition offers a study on hats and headdresses. As the stars rain down on the Holy Family it also offers free access to the manger over silver-coated stairs. [Elisabeth van Mullekom Collection]
